Local Causes Giveback Program: Grant Recipients Announced

Thanks to members like you, we recently awarded $44,000 in grants as part of our debit card giveback program – with the top recipient receiving $10,000! 

Every time you make a purchase with your desert-themed Local Causes Visa® debit card, the credit union contributes to the Arizona Financial Community Fund – then awards the funds to smaller nonprofit organizations throughout Arizona to support their programs.

Congratulations to our 10 grant recipients!

Do you know a nonprofit in need of funding? Local nonprofits can apply for a grant at ArizonaFinancial.org/Grant. Grants are awarded twice a year.

Save the Date: Arizona Fall Festivals

This fall, Local First Arizona’s 17th Annual Arizona Fall Fest is returning on Nov. 4 and Arizona Financial is proud to be the premier sponsor.

At Arizona Fall Fest, you can experience Arizona-grown food and fun at this free event that brings people and local businesses together – with more than 200 local vendors!

Fall Fest will be held at Margaret T. Hance Park in Phoenix and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more details visit LocalFirstAZ.com/Fall-Fest

Pumpkin Festivals & Events

Many locally-owned family farms will be hosting pumpkin festivals this fall – with great food and fun activities like pumpkin patches, corn mazes and hayrides! Here are a few fall festivals around Arizona. Check out their websites for operating hours and tickets.

> Schnepf Farms Pumpkin & Chili Party – Oct. 5-29
Open every Thursday through Sunday. Located in Queen Creek.

> Tolmachoff Farms Pumpkin Days & Corn Maze – Oct. 4-29 
Open Wednesdays through Sundays. Open for pumpkin sales and haunted maze only on Oct. 31. Located in Glendale.

> Apple Annie’s Fall Pumpkin Celebration – Sept. 23 - Oct. 29 
Open every Saturday and Sunday. Located in Willcox.

> Mortimer Farms’ Pumpkin Fest & Corn Maze – Sept. 29 - Oct. 29
Located in Dewey. Festival events are held on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Columbus Day.

> Lake Havasu City Parks & Rec Fall Fun Fair – Oct. 28
Free admission. Time:  3 p.m. - 8 p.m. Located at Rotary Community Park in Lake Havasu City. 

> Annual Town of Parker Trunk or Treat – Oct. 31
Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Located at Pop Harvey Park in Parker.
