The three nominees below have been selected by the Nominating Committee to run in the 2025 Board Election in April.

Call for Petitions

If you’re interested in serving as a member of the Board of Directors and missed out on submitting a nomination, you can petition the membership to be placed on the ballot – if you became a member of the credit union by December 31, 2024. Submit a petition signed by at least 500 Arizona Financial members by February 28, 2025. Call 602-683-1000 to learn how to get started.

Meet
Libby Bissa

Libby has been a member of Arizona Financial since 1984 and a volunteer since 2004, first on the Supervisory Committee, then joining the Board of Directors in 2015. She holds a Master of Management degree and is a small business owner after retiring from a 30-year career with the City of Phoenix.

Libby is passionate about serving the members of our cooperative organization, believing that a credit union thrives when it prioritizes the needs and interests of its members. Her goal is to enhance the member experience by advocating for improved dividends and competitive loan rates, ensuring that our members receive the maximum benefits from their credit union. She's also dedicated to supporting the mission of the credit union while serving its members with integrity and excellence. 

If re-elected, she intends to focus on the continued growth of the credit union, recognizing the importance of expanding lending capabilities and enhancing business services to meet the evolving needs of our community and driving sustainable growth that ultimately benefits all members.

Meet
Bill Greene

Bill has been a member of Arizona Financial since 1996 and has served on the Board since 2015. He is currently chairman of the Board and chair of the Information Technology Steering Committee, which supports the credit union’s IT initiatives, including information security.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University, and has been a certified fraud examiner for 33 years.

Bill is currently the chief audit executive for the City of Tempe. Prior to his career in Tempe, he was the city auditor for the City of Phoenix and co-founder and chief financial officer for a local technology startup.

If re-elected, Bill will continue to support cybersecurity initiatives that protect member data and improvements that make it easier and cost effective for members to conduct business. He will also work to ensure Arizona Financial remains financially safe and sound.

Meet
Jeffrey Barton

Jeffrey has been a member of Arizona Financial since 1998 and has served for 19 years on the credit union’s Supervisory Committee, which is responsible for ensuring that members' funds and interests are protected.

His experience includes a 20+ year career with the City of Phoenix, where he has held several roles, including Budget & Research Director, Deputy City Manager, Assistant City Manager, and his current role of City Manager. Jeffrey holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Morehouse College and a Master of Public Administration from Shippensburg University. 

If elected to the Board, Jeffrey will use his experience and knowledge of the credit union and compliance to ensure operational efficiency and continued adherence with all state, federal and related NCUA guidelines pertaining to a financial institution. He will also use his vast knowledge and insight of the community to assist in the cultivation of unique products or services to ensure we are serving the needs of all members.
