8 Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day Under Lockdown | Arizona Financial Credit Union

Whether you're staying at home social distancing or getting together with dad for Father's Day, here are some fun ways to celebrate.

Send over breakfast in bed. Nothing says “I love you” like a basket bursting with breakfast goodies. If you can’t see dad in person, prepare a feast to go and send it through a private delivery service like usacouriers.com. Take it over the top by including a build-your-own bagel spread, a gourmet cheese board and a homemade iced latte.

Take a virtual gym class together. Does dad miss his bootcamp class at the gym? You can choose from the dozens of virtual fitness classes now being offered at no cost through gyms like Orangetheory, Fhitting Room and Rumble.

Learn something new.  If dad's been looking for something to do with so much time at home, getting him an all-access pass to MasterClass might just be what he needs! He’ll be able to join fascinating classes taught by experts in sports, cooking, gardening, photography, history and more.

Take a bike ride together. Get outside and enjoy the weather before it gets too hot with a socially distant bike ride, walk or hike.

Take a virtual trip. You might be stuck at home, but packing in the sights is easier than ever with virtual tours now available at iconic museums like the Guggenheim in NYC and Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Or get up close and personal with the giant pandas through special panda cams at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, tour the Cincinnati Zoo from the comfort of your couch, or check out the koalas and kangaroos at the San Diego Zoo. For something really out there, you can even take a virtual walk on Mars!

If you’re celebrating with dad remotely, be sure to FaceTime while both of you tour to make it a trip you take together.

Host a dad joke contest. Nobody loves a punny joke like dad! Bring out the giggles this Father’s Day by hosting a dad joke contest on Zoom. Invite the extended family and all of dad’s best buddies to join in. Give everyone three minutes on air to share their best dad jokes. The comedian who gets the most laughs wins!

Watch a concert together. Annual music festivals have been canceled all over the country, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a rocking performance by dad’s favorite band. Check out Billboard's list of live-streaming musical events taking place during COVID-19, or search for dad’s favorite performers on YouTube.

Throw a beer-tasting party. Stock up on dad’s favorite brews for a fun evening of beer! If dad’s quarantining alone, send him his own stash of bottles and open them together at a video-conference party. Up the fun factor with a beer rating sheet from Etsy.
